You are one of those high flying executives who is always on the move. Bags are packed, tickets are booked and it seems you spend a lot of time in the air than with your family. This is when you miss your wife and newborn son a lot, and wish you could be with them, see them instead of sitting through long meetings and conferences. How about you carry them with you on your next trip? Yes, it is possible. Snapfish has brought out these cute mini photo books that are small, easy to create and fit snuggly into your laptop bag.

Pick out a few favorite photographs that you have, create this photobook and you will have your loved ones with you all the time. All it takes is a few minutes on the snapfish website and you are done. Sit back, wait for the beautiful book to arrive and you will not miss your family as much.. While you are at it, you create one  of you with the family, something for them to cherish and flip through when you are away on those long business trips… Agreed, it is no substitute to being physically around them, but this photo book does make a world of difference. :)

Happy travels!

A journey through history and culture

Bags are packed, tickets have been booked and a sense of excitement lingers in the air. This is exactly what parents go through when exams end and school lets out. With the changes in school systems, these days schools work till end April, and holidays run all of May spilling into June.

Prakash was all set to explore the Eastern part of the world with his wife and 4yr old daughter along with few other friends. They were headed to Cambodia, a land of history, where temples and Buddha ruled the streets, and a destination much sought after.

It was their daughter’s first trip abroad, and more than them she was jumping with joy. The thought of flying in an aeroplane, going to a different country was entirely new. We hoped she managed without too much fuss or trouble, especially since food was an issue, he said. But, know what, she was a charm, such an angel, played with other kids at the venues we visited, was such a happy child through the journey, not a minute of pain or trouble… *touch wood*

Even though it was a short trip, we had a blast. This was a country i had not been to earlier, and so it was magical, and quite surprising to see the amount of resemblance their culture, art and temples had to ours.To make sure it wasnt entirely about temples, we visited the beach, the ocean, that had once faced the wrath of the tsunami but today welcomes guests with open arms.

As we left the town towards the airport, our hearts were heavy, and we felt a strong connection had been forged with this foreign yet familiar country. We hoped that one day we would return to explore it further.

Escape to the Land of romance

March is a month that many look forward to, especially those with children. It is the start of exams and tension, but also is when people look forward to the holidays that come following close on heels. Vish talks about how he and his wife decided to take a break and explore the land of romance before their little girl came home from her trip with friends. They went to Paris, spending a few precious days and moments in each others’ company, soaking it all in and unwinding, rejuvenating almost.

The majestic clock at Musee D’orsay

No visit to Paris is complete without a trip down to the Eiffel Tower.. yes, it was as magical as we hopped it would be!

And last but not least, the majestic Place De la Concorde in broad daylight.

The same Place De la Concorde  at night, the lights brought the place to life, something that cannot be put in words…

School projects made fun

Schools never seem to tire of giving children projects for the weekends or to be done during holidays. But then, when a child gets projects regularly, it can become quite daunting for the parents. They are constantly trying to come up with ideas and innovating forms of creating scrap books and charts- to keep the child interested and to make the project unique & special.

Off late, many of the schools are taking different approaches to getting the children to learn about families and loved ones. What they ask the child to do is

1. Collect pictures of family members- their parents, siblings, grand parents, uncles aunts or others who are part of the close circle.

2. Stick the photographs on a book or chart

3. Label them with the names of all those present in the photograph

Instead of simply pasting all the images on a sheet of paper and labelling, these days parents seek out interesting options to make the project more alive…

It is your parents’ 25th wedding anniversary in a week’s time and you have been splitting hair wondering what to gift them. The gift has to be something special, filled with love and one that you know they will love for years to come.

After having made a list of the usual suspects- Holiday in Bali, A weekend away at a resort, spa package, jewellery, watch, you are left with practically no more options… Why not gift them a personalised photo book that has pictures from the years gone by? You could fit in photographs from their wedding, when you were growing up, holidays, and other special moments that have been captured.

This is such a wonderful way of reliving the wonderful times and giving them something to look forward to till you visit them next…And you dont need hard copy of the images, you can pick out the photographs from the various albums you have saved up online. Make sure to ask your siblings, children and close friends if they have any of your family and include those as well.. :)

Add some glitter, colourful words, include Silver through the album, there are no restrictions on how far you can go to make it unique and special … Have fun!

Snapfish offers quite a range of Photobooks , across designs, specifications and cost.  And now, they have come up with 3 new photobook concepts as well..  You life has just become easier, and the puzzle of the “Gift with love” has been put to rest.

Start hunting for photographs, and watch the joy and surprise unfold on your parents’ faces as they unwrap the Photobook…

Happy Anniversary to your parents !
