September means exams and holidays for most who are still in School or College, atleast in India. So, when your cousin or friends come over to spend some time with you, it is much more memorable. But then, when it is time for them leave and return home, you miss them and wish they had stayed on longer.

During the holidays, you have been taking your friend along, showing her around your city, exploring the hidden alleys that you had not ventured out to, and ofcourse enjoying the local treats – food, art and culture wise. Your friend has brought you a few goodies from her town, things that you enjoyed during your earlier visit there.

So, now, when she is ready to leave, you think of a gift that would be appropriate and remind her of you and the city along with the experiences she had here.

So.. What is World Photography Day?

It is all about celebrating photography and remembering how special a photograph can be.

Today we look at the photographs we have taken and spend a minute reminiscing on the moment… Relive those beautiful thoughts and vacations you took.  Say a small prayer of Thank you to Photography… Remember there was once a time when photography didn’t exist. A time when those precious moments couldn’t be captured, uploaded and shared. And now, there are cameras in the phones, point and shoot cameras, SLR and DSLR….

And today we are featuring photographs by some photography enthusiasts…Join Snapfish as we rejoice on the joy of taking photographs and share with you a few photographs from photography enthusiasts….

Get clicking.. its time to  share your world with the world!

To me, this pic brings out their love for each other in many ways. Their comfort with each other, their happiness are apparent. I like how the colors, the tones, the textures come together. :-)

So, it is World Photography Day… My bond with my camera began long ago, actually, i don’t really know where i made the transition from being someone who enjoyed taking random photographs to becoming a professional photographer. The journey has been amazing, and today when i look back, it all probably started with nature and all that it has to offer

I click anything that catches my eye. I have taken pictures of  birds, animals, things, locks, events, and just about everything else you can think of. Photography is very close to my heart- it is the only medium where i can express myself and not worry about others… This is a photograph i took at an event… I was in awe of the Lady cop, she seemed to be standing proud saying “Women Rule, so beware”!

Right.
What a cliche!  World Photography day, and we post photos. Not so surprisingly, here’s a cliched shot of a waterfall, long exposure of course, of exotic locations that belie photography’s great appeal: an anthropological research tool and a travel agent’s truest measure of success.
But, all’s not that point & shoot simple. Within the cliche lies a certain technical competence – a good frame that reflects the rule of thirds, a good exposure that reproduces colour and tone, and a certain likeability for the place.
All that’s is just a big way of saying “I was there!”, which is all one needs to be, if Henri Cartier Bresson was right. Which he was.
f/8 and be there.

Love this picture because,

Cycle tracks are a near rarity in Chennai and these (cycle track markers) ones span throughout the IT Corridor bye-lane. The seasonal flowers makes it even more inviting to ride and not Drive…

Capturing memories and preserving them for eternity

We all plan meticulously when we are going for a vacation or attending some kind of event. But most of the times in all the haste, we forget to bring along a camera or shoot pictures with them even though we have one. When you want to document the memories of you and your family, the best is to carry a camera always.

You may be on a once in a lifetime trip around the world or meeting some celebrity. Preserving this memory in a photograph format will give you much happiness at some later point of time. Or if you have family visiting from across the seas, to cherish the fun times, take as many photographs as you desire, and keep them safe for years to come.

Digitalize your photographs:

Photobook inside options

Today almost every household has a digital camera. Even when you don’t have a digital camera, you can always scan your developed photographs and record them in a CD. Digitalize all your photographs and preserve them in a CD or on your computer hard disk. It will then come in handy when creating a photobook or scrapbook.

Create a Family Photobook:

Photobooks are the perfect options to preserve memories. Set aside some time after you return to sort through the photographs and pick the ones you find the best.  You could even pick a theme, organize the photos and create a book beautifully. You could even add a few words here and there, or maybe some quirky quotes from the net to go with the pictures. When you look back on the photobook, not only do you relive the beautiful moments but it will be an opportunity for family bonding.  Add a personal touch to the photobook, and it is ideal for gifting as well.

These two are some of the ways to preserve the memories. You can also print a photo book or print your photos onto a different medium like canvas etc.

You have just returned from a holiday to an exotic location and have all your photographs with you. Now you have several options on how to preserve these memories. You can upload them onto some online photo account or make a photo book out of it.

Photo books are very different from photo albums. Unlike the latter, photo books are bound with pictures normally printed directly unto the paper.  There are several options where you can make a photo book. But if you have a copy of Photoshop at your desktop, you can make a photo book of your holiday memories all by yourself.

First open the Photoshop picture editor and edit the photos you want to include in your photo book. Make sure that the photographs look the way you want them to. If needed add captions which you want to accompany the photograph

Next save all the photographs in a single folder. Now choose this folder and drag and drop the photographs as per the order you want them on the book. After the photos are selected, click on the Album button and create an album.

Once you finish selecting the pictures, click on the ‘Create’ tab and choose the ‘Photo Book’ option. Using the dialogue boxes available, choose the layout and number of pages for your book.

Next choose a theme for your photo book pages. Add background and frames to each page.

You can resize, replace and move the pictures around the book as per your wish. You can also play around with the layout and theme of the book. These options can be found in the Content panel on the left.

Save your photo book.

Now you can use this file to print it at your local photo printing shop or you can upload it to an online photo printing website and order as many photo books as you want. Now you will have a beautiful photo book holding the memories of your holiday.
